Tackle World Moruya - Fishing Report

14 November 2012

Moruya River

Good size flatties are being caught right throughout the system, roving from the hospital down towards the front of the River around the sand flats near the airport.  Head back upstream for a nice catch of bream and estuary perch on Squidgie Bugs teamed with Squidgie resin heads.  Large tailor and trevally are also being pulled out of the deeper water with plenty of big bully mullet in the system as well.

Tackle World Team members Mark and Dan headed for a fish throughout the week and caught and released quite a few flathead ranging in size from "littlies" right through to 1 metre plus!!  This flattie was actually called as a Wobbegong while it followed in a tailor Mark had hooked up on, but as it got closer it became quite evident with the aid of "Spotters" sunnies that it was actually one hell of a big girl!!  Gear of choice - the new Paul Worsteling Nano series rods (7ft2 1 piece 1-4 kg Bream stick) made exclusively for Tackle World stores by Shimano, teamed with a Shimano Stradic FJ 1000 spooled with 3 lb Power Pro Bite Motion Braid with Dog Tooth leader (10 lb) and lure of choice was the ever-popular Strada Viral 70 mm surface walker.  These Strada lures are becoming harder and harder to keep in stock as fishermen become familiar with them and the havoc they cause on the fish!

Meanwhile, Team Tackle World member John headed for a session in the snags and leases catching and releasing some nice bream around the 40 cm mark to the fork sticking to his favourite Crankster hardbodies.  VIP member Cruizer also enjoyed a good catch and release session on estuary perch (20 in total off one snag) using Strada Badgers.

Check out our facebook page for an unbelievable photo taken by TW Member Nathan of a beautiful flattie caught by Juzz.  The flattie is still underwater with Juzz swimming it with a pair of Maritec Lip Grippers.  What was this beauty caught on?  Once again the Strada Viral 70 mm surface walker!!  (Hopefully if we can use a bit of our computer savvy  - yes a bit - we might/hope that we can actually send the photo through to you as an attachment!)

Beaches and Rocks

Luderick and drummer are still biting well off the rocks in Moruya with some nice flathead and tailor being brought in off Tuross.  Team Tackle world member John Snr has been landing some beautiful sea bream off Congo beach.

Thankfully the kingies are still on the chew with some great catches being reported off River2Sea Jigs and the new Strada Tournament Poppers which were designed especially with kingies and tuna in mind.  We have also received some good reports of albacore outwide.  Meanwhile, some nice tiger flathead and snapper are being brought in off the back of the beaches up and down the coastline.

FinNor Biscayne Overhead Combo's (assorted sizes) now reduced from $299.00 to an amazingly special price of just $150.00 - be quick these won't last long at this price!!
