Hi Guys - hope everyone enjoyed their Easter break! Here's
whats been going on down here.
Moruya River
Trolling around the Quarry Wharf area using Arma Anchovy lures
will secure some nice catches of tailor at the moment, with good
numbers of flathead, bream, trevally and luderick around the
Preddies Wharf area as well. Small diving lures or live bait
will work the trick on these guys.
Tuross
Those BIG bream are still around with Graham and John once more
enjoying a great catch and release session yesterday with bream
measuring up to 42 cm to the fork of the tail. These fish
could not resist the Sebile Cranksters as well as the Shimano Lure
Project in the "fat body". That evening, Graham also sat down
to a very tasty meal of freshly caught mud crabs!
If tailor is more to your liking, these guys were around in
nuisance (plague) proportions, trying to steal our Cranksters
before the bream could attack!! So all in all a great
mornings fishing even if we did endure some rain - not enough to
spoil the fun we were having though!
Rocks and Beaches
Some very nice catches of drummer are being brought in along the
headlands both up and down the coast on peeled prawns.
Moruya's breakwall is still fishing well with catches of large
salmon, bream and bonito with the occasional tailor thrown in.
Large swells are predicted along the Coast for the next few
days, so please be careful if you're heading out!
Offshore
Captain Ron onboard Winda Woppa I and II reports good catches of
"reds" out in the 50 metre mark. The water temperature is
currently sitting at a pleasant 22 degrees celcius. Heading
back closer to shore (35 metre mark) Ron came across an abundance
of nice flathead using both fresh bait and soft plastics.
Catches of mowies, large pigfish, gummy sharks and bronze whalers
(limit of 1) were also secured.
Make sure you drop in store this weekend to secure your purchase
from our Easter Catalogue as it is now in its last days and stocks
are extremely limited!!
And remember "every day's a good day for fishing ... "
