G'day from Darwin! Why of course there's a cyclone alert when
else would it come other than when we are here!! We've rang
the boys and have the following fishing report for this week.
Moruya and Tuross Rivers
Both systems are still "murky" following last weeks downpours,
however are starting to clear up. As with last week, this
necessitates staying down the front of the system where catches of
bream, flathead and whiting are still being enjoyed, both on live
beach worms, fresh bait and plastics. Debris is still
floating down Moruya River so please be careful when negotiating
the waters, however good catches of luderick are being had around
the "hole in the wall".
For an extremely "yummy" feed of both mud crabs and prawns, get
in store to secure some lights, traps and nets as Coila is once
more enjoying the spoils of this truly delicious seafood!
Beach and Rocks
The Windsock and Goulbourn Workers are fishing extremely well
for bream and whiting all on live beach worms at the moment.
Head back to the breakwall for catches of salmon and tailor on
pillies or anchovy metal slices.
Offshore
Captain Ron onboard Winda Woppa I and II reports a drop in the
sea temperature to 20.1 degrees celcius with a strong current
running. There is still plenty of debris floating around with
the water still murky in close. Once outside the dirty water
line, catches of snapper are being enjoyed on Shimano Lucanis jigs,
as well as gummy sharks, pigfish and flathead.
Some nice striped marlin have been landed out on the shelf off a
range of Black Magic Jetsetters. Keep an eye out for the
Yellowfin with this drop in water temperature!
