Hey guys - we were still enjoying that beautiful spring weather
until an ugly cold southerly turned up and sent everything
up-side-down again. However, today is nice and sunny and the
forecast is for temps in the mid to high 20's. Here goes for
this weeks report.
Moruya, Tuross and Surrounding Estuaries
Team Tackle World member John and his mates headed for the steel
bridge the other day for two good days fishing up from the bridge
and around the snake flat area. John was rewarded with a good
catch and release session of bream - 10+ all over the 35 cm mark,
flathead - pan size - and tailor. John was using a mixture of
diving lures (such as SX40's) and surface lures - instinct
poppers.
Graham headed out on Thursday morning for a good session on
bream (they were everywhere) around the 4-ways using Camion deep
divers. He then headed into the shallows using Sebile
Splasher poppers and scored some nice flathead and whiting.
All fish were caught and released.
Moruya is still enjoying good catches of luderick around the
rock walls, with tailor around Quarry Wharf and flathead
around the Anchorage. Try metal slices for your tailor and
Squidgy or Gulp soft plastics for the flatties. With the
whiting now on the chew jump in store and grab some fresh beach
worms for best results - beach worms are brought in fresh every
Friday morning. Ring and secure your tub as stocks are
limited.
Rocks and Beaches
Good size bream and tailor are still being brought in off the
beaches both up and down the coastline. Make sure you pick a
good "gutter" to fish into. Salted pillies are probably your
best bet here.
Offshore
Captain Ron onboard Winda Woppa I and II reports good catches of
fish at all depths. Your usual reef fish of snapper, mowies,
nannygai and pigfish were all landed with the water temperature
sitting at 18 degrees celcius and a strong current running.
Ron also landed nice flathead all above the 60 cm+ mark, gummy
sharks and Kingies from legal size up to 95 cm. Most of the
fish were caught on squid and fish bait.
This weeks special: 20% off all baitcaster combo's in
store when you mention this report!!
Have a great weeks fishing everyone and remember
"everydays a good day for fishing .... "
