Hey Guys - things have "heated up" this week with good fish
around just about everywhere. Here goes for this weeks
report.
Moruya, Tuross and Surrounding Estuaries
Team Tackle World member Ben headed out last Sunday and reports
a few nice fish out of the River including his personal best perch
at 42 cm caught on an SX40 up past the Hospital, also some nice
flatties and tailor caught on bloodworm wrigglers in the same
area. The water temperature was 19 degrees celcius (in
patches) and this was where the best fishing was. We have
just received reports of a huge school of salmon having entered the
system as well and they are biting!!
Tuross is also starting to fire up both up and down the system
with Team Tackle World member Noel reporting good catches of
flatties between the "lake" and "broken bridge" as well as near the
4-ways where Noel caught and released four flatties 50 cm+ and a 40
cm whiting as well as landing a 70 cm flattie in the same spot last
weekend. Most of Noel's fish were caught on 80 mm/100 mm
wrigglers bloodworm and red rum colours. Noel then threw out
an anchor and burlied up to chase some garries around. He was
rewarded with a catch of 17 garfish until the seagulls found the
burley trail and chased them all away!
After some sound advise on "where to go" from Graham, Team
tackle World member Juy put in above the steel bridge to be
rewarded with his first jewie on soft plastics (100 mm White
Lightning Shads) in his trusty "Hobie" with flathead, tailor and
salmon as well. Not bad for a "quick" mornings fish!
This morning seen Graham put in at Steel Bridge for a great
catch and release session on big perch in the snags using Squidgie
Bug weighted with a light resin head. Good catches of
flathead were also had on DOA prawns with some pesty tailor
stealing three good hardbodies!!
Offshore
Captain Ron onboard Winda Woppa I and II reports a good
southerly current running with the water temperature sitting around
the 17 degree celcius mark. Ron headed out into 50-65 metre
mark and landed good catches of mowies, pigfish, nannygai, flathead
(both tiger and sand) using both fish bait and Lucanus Jigs.
All in all possibly the best weeks fishing for quite awhile
now. Lets hope it stays that way!!
Head in store and mention this report to receive a 10% discount
on all graphite rods (sorry no lay-buys).
Have a great weeks fishing everyone and remember "everyday's a
good day for fishing ... "
