Hey Guys - hope everyone had a wonderful Australia Day and are
enjoying the last of the holidays!
Moruya and Tuross Rivers
Good catches of both whiting and flathead are being had down the
front of both systems on a mixture of surface lures, soft plastics
and fresh bait. Team Tackle World member Tony enjoyed a great
catch and release session up at Kiora on bream and perch using
Camions. Graham and John also enjoyed a good catch and
release session on the bream and tailor out of the snags in Tuross
using the Shimano Lure Projects.
Rocks and Beaches
Big salmon are still being caught off most beaches, but
inparticular Meringo, Spud Point and Broulee. The whiting
have slowed a touch as they move into the estuaries.
Offshore
Captain Ron onboard Winda Woppa I and II reports good catches of
mowies, nannygai and pigfish along with the occasional snapper out
in 45 metres of water - all of these species caught on fish
bait. There is a mild northerly current running and the water
temperature is fluctuating on a daily basis. Good kingies are
being pulled in out on the first reef trolling Strada and christmas
tree lures. Head back into the 40 metre mark to be rewarded
with good catches of flathead off Coila using soft plastics,
inparticular Gulp 5" pumpkinseed as well as nuclear chicken.
There are also a heap of little Hammerhead sharks around at the
moment which Ron is using live bait on.
Remember "every day's a good day for fishing ... "
Enjoy the last couple of days of the school holidays kids and
we'll be announcing the winner of our colouring-in competition
soon.
