Hey Guys - hope everyone has had a good weeks fishing. The
weather has been a bit "over the place", however the fishing has
been excellent.
Tuross and Moruya Rivers
Congratulations to all those kids who enjoyed a great weekend
fishing in the "Hooked on fishing" competition run out of Tuross
last weekend. There were some great catches and everyone had
a great time! See you next year kids!!
Some excellent catches of flathead are being brought in at the
moment on soft plastics and live poddies right throughout Tuross
and in the backwaters of Moruya, as well as in Tomago River.
Extremely nice catches of bream are also being had over the
flats on SX40's and Camions. The whiting have turned up
having moved in from the beaches, so grab some fresh beachworms to
catch yourself a nice feed - give us a call to secure your "tub" of
live worms. The "zappers" are also working well on the
whiting over the flats with a great "walk the dog"
action.
Beaches and Rocks
All beaches and headlands up and down the coastline are fishing
well at the moment with catches of big "fat" salmon, whiting,
bonito, bream and tailor, with good catches of squid being had off
Broulee as well as Congo.
Offshore
Head straight off Congo to secure yourself some nice Snapper on
Lucanis Jigs and 6" Gulp Nuclear Chicken. Good catches of
flathead have also been reported out in the 40-60 metre mark, along
with mowies, kingies, bonito, striped tuna and chinamen
leatherjackets. Once you get yourself safely over the bar,
try trolling with some Strada diving lures along with little jet
head "christmas trees". A sea anchor is recommended as there
is still a current running and the water temperature is currently
sitting around the 22 degrees celcius mark.
Have a good week everyone and remember "every days a good day
for fishing ... "
And kids - don't forget our colouring-in competition which
closes on 31 January, so drop in store and grab an entry!
