Hey Guys - well Spring is finally here and was welcomed in with a
beautiful couple of days before winter returned!! We got some
badly needed rain and are expecting some more - all good news to
freshen up the systems and bring the fish on the chew. Here
goes for this weeks report.
Moruya River
The river is fishing abit hard at the moment, however one of our
fisho's hooked up to a metre plus flathead to lose it at the boat
prior to getting that prized photo!! Pumpkinseed flavour in
the Gulp was the bait of choice. The bream are still there
also, but as mentioned you need to "fish" for them.
Some very nice luderick as well as salmon are still being
brought in off the breakwall.
Tuross
Flathead, perch, luderick, bream and whiting are all still being
caught in the system, with alot of the catches coming from the
Bumbo area. Hardbody lures and soft plastics causing the
flathead and perch alot of grief with fresh bait being used on the
bream and whiting.
Beaches and Rocks
Salmon, bream and drummer are still being caught along our
beautiful beaches and headlands. Gang up some pillies or
throw an Arma Anchovy metal slice for the salmon, while the bream
are enjoying either cubes of pillies or fresh red rock
crabs.
Offshore
Some very nice reddies have been caught off Pedro Point in the
45-50 metre mark.
Captain Ron onboard Winda Woppa reports that conditions have
once more returned to their best with the slime from last week
having disappeared to leave clear conditions once more. Nice
catches of snapper, mowies, pigfish and large nannygai are being
had out in the 40-50 metre mark, with the water temperature
currently running at 15.6 degrees celcius and rising.
Make sure you drop in store to secure Dad's father's day present
before our massive sale ends this Saturday afternoon. Have a
great day on Sunday to all those dad's out there!!
and remember "every day's a good day for fishing ... "
