Hey Guys - the good weather has once more returned with
the forecast being all good for the weekend!! Here goes for
this weeks report.
Moruya
Some very nice catches of whiting are being had down the very
front of the system - get instore to secure your tub of live
beach worms to enhance your chance of a nice feed. Flathead
are also being caught up around the bend above the hospital on the
flats on Squidgie Pro Lobby's in the Grenade colour, with the perch
further up again in the snags!
Tuross
We headed out this morning for a nice catch and release
session on the flathead down the front of the system using 3"
swimming mullet Gulp in pumpkinseed colour. We also secured
an absolute "cracker" of a bream while fishing for the
flathead! Unfortunately the wind turned up and cut our
session short, so make sure you get out nice and early!
Rocks and Beaches
The "windsock" is firing for bream, trevally and salmon off
salted pillies. All of the beaches should be performing quite
well and we might see the whiting turn up with predictions of
warmer weather to come!!
Offshore
Good catches of both snapper and mowies have been had all week
out in the 40-70 metre mark, with catches of pigfish as well.
We headed closer in to the 30 m mark and were rewarded with good
flathead and the occasional gummy shark thrown in. Nice
jackass mowies were also cruising around. The water
temperature has risen to a nice 16.4 degrees celcius, with mild
currents running, however a sea anchor is still necessary.
Things are certainly looking good for the school holidays and
long weekend to come!!
