Hey Guys - hope everyone has had an enjoyable week. The
weather has once more seemed to settle down, so we should have a
good weekends fishing in front of us. Here goes for this
weeks report -
Moruya River
Team Tackle World member Mark ditched work and took off onto the
river for a good session down near Preddies Wharf. He cast
out hard onto the rock wall with both SX40's and TT Switchblades to
be rewarded with a great catch and release session on bream and
trevally.
Tackle World member Dickie changed tactics this week and headed
down towards the front of the system fishing the opposite side of
the river to Mark. He also was rewarded with a great catch
and release session scoring 20 bream on Strike Pro Vibes. We
have also had good reports of nice flathead being caught on
plastics and salted pillies from Quarry Wharf down.
Tuross
Catch of the week goes to Team Tackle World member Noel who caught
and released a personal best 1.07 m flathead which took him half an
hour to land - not a bad effort on 4lb line! Plastics once
again winning over the flathead on Squidgie Wriggler Bloodworm 80
mm.
The salmon are still heading in on the high tide and are great fun
to fish for! Try
Arma Anchoy metal slices for your best bet, or for those who prefer
bait, you can't go past pillies or whitebait.
Rocks and Beaches
Tackle World member Gav and Brendon both had great catches of
Drummer up to 3 kilos with the bait of choice being peeled prawns,
with some good silver drummer and nice blue groper thrown in the
mix as well. Large catches of bream and salmon are coming in
around Goulbourn workers and along race course beach with salted
pillies and prawns proving most effective.
Offshore
Captain Ron from Winda Woppa Fishing Charters reports large
snapper, mowies, lots of sharks, huge pigfish and flathead all
being caught around the 45-50m mark on fish bait. The water
is still running at a nice 19 degrees with mild drifts making sea
anchors necessary.
Check out our new "information" board located on the eastern side
of the building
showing tide times, charter times and "catch of the week".
We have just had a new shipment of "swags" land instore - including
"biker" swags for those of you who don't have much room for
storage. Also new Companion fridge/freezers (complete with
travel covers) at never to be repeated prices - 4 only!!
Enjoy the week everyone and remember "every days a good day for
fishing ..."
