--Hey Guys - happy Anzac Day long weekend.
Moruya River
Team Tackle World members John and Shirley headed out on Friday
morning and were rewarded with catches of nice whiting (on fresh
beach worms), tailor (trolling with metal slices), trevally and
bream (also on beach worms and some bream on poppers) from
the quarry wharf area and running down to the front of the
system. While they had a good morning the fishing in the
river at the moment has slowed, so you will need to exercise some
patience.
Tuross
Graham once again played "hookie" and headed off with tackle
world member Paul. They targeted the edges of the weed beds
and had a brilliant catch and release session scoring perch, bream,
tailor, flathead and even a luderick. Lure of choice for the
day were Bassday "Kangoku" in the green tones. The salmon and
larger tailor are still coming in with the rising tide - these guys
are great fun on light bream gear!!
Beaches and Rocks
The "breakwall" is still firing well with huge balls of
baitfish off both sides. Most of the beaches are still
producing nice whiting, bream, salmon, bonito and tailor,
especially around "spud point", coila beach and "one tree
point".
Offshore
Captain Ron onboard Winda-Whoppa has been enjoying nice catches
of Mowies (3-7 kg in size), the occasional snapper, heaps of sharks
- both gummies and hammerheads, bonito and small mack tuna.
The best news though - the Kingies are here and in good sizes out
in 68 metres of water!! The water temperature is sitting at a
nice 21 degrees celcius and the seas have been perfect!!
Coming soon - charters out to the "shelf" for marlin and tuna -
to express your interest please either send Ron or ourselves an
e-mail or give us a call - the sooner we know we have a "market"
for this style of fishing the sooner we'll get things
happening!!
Have a great weekend everyone and remember "every day's a good
day for fishing"!!
