Fishing Report, 19/11/10

Hey Guys - have had a good week fishing and hope you have too.  Here goes for this weeks report.

Moruya River

Reports of catches of flathead, tailor and whiting have been had from the Quarry Wharf area down to the front of the system.  Bait of choice includes beach worms and freshly pumped nippers.  We experienced success on the flathead with C'ultiva Fry Size Mirashad Suspending 50 mm complete with Owner hooks we used this on the brand new Shimano T-Curve Resolution 2-5 kg teamed up with a Shimano Saros 1000 size spin reel spooled with 6lb Fins and a 15lb Nitlon leader.

Team Tackle World members Mark and Daniel enjoyed a great catch and release session the other day with heaps of flathead on the chew (soft plastics) - apparently they're getting to the point where they are just about jumping on the hook!  They enjoyed good catches of bream down the front of the system on Lucky Craft Sammy Surface lures.  While targeting the bream they landed quite a few very large luderick as by-catches, so they are also on the chew.

Rocks and Beaches

Good catches of bream, tailor and salmon have been had both up and down the coastline.

Captain Ron onboard Winda Woppa reports good catches of flathead (paternoster rig using Gulp 5" Jerk Shads in Nuclear chicken), gummy and school sharks, however the snapper have slowed abit.  Very good catches of Kingies are out just over the first reef!  If you are able to venture outside (has been a little rough lately) the Yellow Fin are out on the shelf as well.  The water temperature is running at 18.2 degrees celcius at the moment with a northern drift (the use of a sea anchor is recommended).
