Moruya River
Team Gone Fishin' member Cruizer enjoyed a nice morning on Moruya
River with good catches of Flathead on both soft plastics and hard
bodied lures down the front of the system. If you're partial
to squid, then get on the river and enjoy a good catch, as there
are quite a few about at the moment. The water is nice and
clean and the temperature around the 18 degree mark.
Tuross
Graham and Gaye launched at the main ramp and enjoyed a good catch
and release session on Tailor - there are literally hundreds of
them!!, flathead - on Gulp Alive rootbeer, estuary perch on SX40's
and bream on Atomic Hardz. Team Gone Fishin' member Evan also
enjoyed a nice morning with both estuary perch and flathead on fly
and Atomic Guzzlerz.
You had to pick your places to fish as the wind was quite
uncomfortable at times.
One other thing - never underestimate the value of a good pair
of sunnies when your fishing - Gaye's choice Blueye's and Graham's
- Spotters!
Beaches & Rocks
The seas aren't doing anyone any favours at the moment, so please
keep off the rocks and wait for the seas to subside.
Offshore
As stated the seas are quite large at the moment, however Captain
Ron was able to get out early this week and enjoyed good
catches of Snapper, Mowies, extra large Nannygai, flathead and
chinamen leatherjackets off Broulee in the 50 m mark. The
next day Ron headed straight off Moruya in 40 m of water and scored
Snapper, Gummy sharks, the occasional flathead and good
mowongs.
Bait of choice was Mackeral and Tuna Fillets, with your best bet
being to anchor up and burley as the slime has increased
again. However, the system will improve and we look forward
to a good week of fishing next week.
Have a great weeks fishing everyone and happy holidays to those
kids enjoying the break!
