Hey guys here goes for this week's fishing report,
Moruya River - Excellent catches of flathead and bream down the
front have been caught on Red Belly and Gold Top Stiffy
Poppers, with the bream also responding well to Vibes in the deeper
water. Large numbers of whiting are being caught on beach
worms and fresh nippers up the top of Moruya, past
Yarragee.
Tuross - Team Tackle World Moruya members Mark and Daniel had a
great catch and release session all week using Gillies Poppers,
rewarded with bream, tailor and small reddies. The flathead
and flounder were also on the chew, being caught mainly on Gulp 2
inch Banana Prawns and Nuclear Chicken 2 inch Shrimp. Team
Tackle World Moruya Member Graham went down Friday morning and had
a fantastic session on Flitters Walk The Dog style lure and Stiffy
Poppers in the Favourite variety, rewarded with 7 bream to 36cm and
unfortunately lost some large flathead at the side of the
boat. The fish are quite timid at the moment, so for best
results use a long, light leader if you head out.
Rocks and Beaches - Not much to report this week due to the rough
seas, however, when the seas settle down the salmon, bream and
whiting are all sure to be in the newly formed gutters. Bream
and drummer will be found around the headlands using either cunji
or peeled prawns.
Offshore - Captain Ron from Winda Woppa Fishing Charters reports
great catches of snapper on Lucanus Jigs in between 40 and 80m of
water. Large numbers of good sized flathead are being caught
off the sand on fishbait. With the current running quickly at
the moment, throw out a sea anchor to slow you down.
