Moruya River

Team Gone Fishin' member Cruizer had a really good session the other morning on flathead and bream.   These guys are really on the chew at the moment and Cruizer told us his success rate was based on any type of imitation prawns in the soft plastic range.

Success was had both down the front of the system as well as around the Yarragee area.  Nathan also shared some of the success on bream, flathead and whiting - all down the front of the system - on freshly pumped "nippers"!

Tuross

Surface poppers are back in vogue with the whiting once again taking a liking to these guys further up river around the "Snake Flat" area.  Graham also had a good catch and release session on really big Estuary Perch, Tailor and Luderick.

Pick of the lures this week was C'ultiva Rip'n Minnow 70 mm on flathead and MiraShad 50 mm on both the bream, perch and luderick.  These lures absolutely worked a treat with the Owner hooks proving they are the best in the business!

Rocks and Beaches

Good catches of drummer are still being had off the headlands both up and down the coast, with salmon, bream and tailor off the Breakwall.  Best bait for drummer - fresh cunji, with the salmon and tailor loving metal slices and/or pilchards and the bream loving their share of peeled prawns and chicken gut.

Offshore

Captain Ron onboard Winda-Whopper tells us that he is experiencing wonderful catches of snapper and mowies off the very popular tried and tested Shimano Lucanus Jigs in around the 40-60 metres of water mark.  Catches of large nannygai up around the 40 cm mark are also being had, with gummy and seven-gilled sharks responding well to tuna strips.  Both tiger and sand flathead are also being caught on fish bait.

The water temperature is sitting around the 19 degrees celcius mark, bringing the albacore around with the yellowfin expected to turn up shortly.

We hope everyone has had an enjoyable week - tight lines my friends - will keep you updated at the same time next week.
